Sleep Studies

Diagnosis of a sleep disorder is an important first step towards the development of a treatment plan that can improve and restore your quality of life. If you choose York Hospital’s Sleep Center, you can enjoy a private and secure bedroom-like setting, equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment.

Registered technicians carefully monitor your heart rate, breathing patterns and brainwave activity while you’re asleep. Sleep testing can be conducted at the hospital, and in some cases, at home. Contact your provider today to request a referral if you think you or someone you care for may have a sleep issue.

How a sleep study works

At the hospital we can test for a variety of sleep-related conditions. A home study is possible to screen for Obstructive Sleep Apnea and if chosen by you and your provider, monitoring is completed with the help of a small wearable unit in the comfort of your own home.

After a study, a detailed report of the findings will be evaluated by our board-certified sleep physician. The results will then be passed along to your ordering provider and an individualized treatment plan will created. Most insurance plans will cover sleep studies and treatment. Check with your insurance plan for details.
