Applications Open for 2025 Friends of York Hospital Scholarship

York Hospital is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 Friends of York Hospital Scholarship. This annual program supports graduating high school seniors from York Hospital’s service area who plan to pursue a career in health care.

The Friends of York Hospital awards three $5,000 scholarships to students residing in southern York County, including Kittery, Eliot, the Berwicks, Sanford, Lebanon, Kennebunk, Wells, Ogunquit, and York. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, financial need, and a demonstrated commitment to a future in health care.

For consideration, students must submit the following by Friday, March 28, 2025:

• A completed application
• An essay detailing their interest in the medical field
• Two letters of recommendation (one from a guidance counselor and one from an employer/supervisor)
• An official high school transcript

Started in 1962, the Friends of York Hospital Scholarship Program is funded through generous donations from the Physician’s Committee and the York Hospital Apothecary, membership dues, fundraising events, and donations from community members.
