Brianna Young Honored With DAISY Award for Q3 2024

We are excited to announce that Brianna Young, RN, a member of York Hospital’s wound care team, has been honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for the third quarter of 2024.

Brianna was nominated by a patient she cared for at Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine from January to July 2024. He was grappling with a severe condition that caused “intolerable” pain and required weekly care. In his nomination, he shared that Brianna was a constant source of support during his long and arduous journey.

"Brianna took extreme care in my treatment and recovery," he wrote. "She explained the slow process of healing in great detail, always keeping my spirits elevated, and reassured me every step of the way. She walked me through the stages of my condition and what to expect, and her words of encouragement gave me hope as summer approached."

The patient further praised Brianna’s compassion and expertise: "Brianna is cautious, knowledgeable, and kind. She brought me great comfort through all the pain, and now, finally, the cure. I am now able to walk and sleep without pain. Brianna is a standout nurse in this clinic who truly cares for her patients. She is a credit to her profession."

He ended his nomination by expressing his gratitude: "Brianna deserves a bouquet of daisies!"
