Update to York Hospital's Masking Policy

Effective Monday, March 18, 2024, the York Hospital main campus has dropped its universal masking requirement for all patients, visitors, employees and volunteers. As of March 18, all York Hospital locations have implemented a mask-optional policy to enter any hospital building.

Since 2020, York Hospital has followed CDC guidelines and best practices in response to COVID and other respiratory illnesses. Hospitals across Maine have adopted department- and service-specific procedures and guidelines as respiratory illness positivity and transmission rates fluctuate. Please be aware that masking requirements are subject to change at individual York Hospital locations based on seasonal upticks in respiratory illnesses. Each of our locations and campuses may look a little different in their specific masking and visitor requirements. Your safety and wellbeing remain our biggest priorities and we appreciate your understanding.

As always, patients and visitors may ask a provider or staff member to wear a mask during any interaction if they prefer to do so.

Thank you for partnering with us as we support a healthy spring season for all throughout our communities.
