York Hospital Welcomes Marta Kokoszynska, MD, as Medical Director of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
York Hospital is pleased to announce that Marta Kokoszynska, MD, has joined the medical staff as Medical Director of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. She will lead critical care initiatives and further the hospital’s commitment to advanced pulmonary medicine and patient-centered care.
Dr. Kokoszynska comes to York Hospital from the University of Vermont Medical Center, where she served as an Assistant Professor of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at the Larner College of Medicine. She was also Director of the Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Clinic and a Physician Advisor at the medical center, where she played a key role in developing specialized treatment programs for complex pulmonary diseases.

"Her expertise in pulmonary and critical care medicine, along with her passion for patient advocacy, will be instrumental in expanding the hospital’s capabilities and ensuring the highest level of care for our community."
Dr. Kokoszynska completed her Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Vermont and has trained at some of the nation’s leading institutions, including National Jewish Health in Denver, CO, where she completed an ILD Preceptorship. She also attended Columbia University’s College of Physicians & Surgeons - Stamford Hospital for her Internal Medicine Residency where she was also Chief Resident. She earned her MD from St. George’s University and holds a BA in Economics with minors in Mathematics and Chemistry from New York University.
As Medical Director of Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Kokoszynska aims to enhance multidisciplinary collaboration, improve patient outcomes, and develop stronger programs for complex pulmonary diseases.
"I hope to create a sense of community for providers and a place where patients feel heard, cared for, and have access to the most up-to-date care," said Dr. Kokoszynska. "I am excited to bring my experience to York Hospital and work alongside the pulmonary team to continue improving critical care services for our patients."
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Kokoszynska enjoys cooking cuisines from around the world, hiking, antiquing, and crocheting. She is also fluent in Polish and speaks conversational Spanish. She shares her home with Mr. Stanley, her chocolate labrador retriever.
