York Hospital Welcomes New Providers

York Hospital invites you to join us in welcoming these providers to its medical staff and the community.
 

Amy K. Bartlett-Palmer, FNPAmy K. Bartlett-Palmer, FNP, joins her colleagues at the Center for Older Adult Care in South Berwick, where she leads the House Calls Program. She comes to York Hospital with primary and acute care experience as a nurse practitioner at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, St. Peter’s Recovery Center, Guilderland, New York, where she was also director of nursing, and as a supervising clinician at Ophelia Health, New York City. Ms. Bartlett-Palmer earned her BSN at the University of Massachusetts (UMass), Amherst, MSN at University of Phoenix, Tempe, Arizona., and Post Master’s FNP at UMass, Boston. When not making house calls, you will find her enjoying time with her husband and four children, especially at any sporting event from Boston to Portland.
 

Daniel Cabral, MD, MMS-CDaniel Cabral, MD, MMS-C, treats patients in York Hospital’s Emergency Care department. He earned his BS in Biology at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, an MA of Medical Sciences at Boston University School of Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts, and an MD at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine, Richmond, where he participated in the Rural Preceptorship program. He also performed an internship in surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University and family medicine residency at VCU – Bon Secours. Following a fellowship in emergency medicine, Dr. Cabral joined the staff at Maine General Medical Center as the attending physician on both the main hospital campus and ER, supervising physician assistants while precepting family medicine residents and medical students on ER rotations. When not caring for patients, he may be gardening, hiking, surfing, cooking, or playing guitar, and enjoying time with his family and black lab.
 

Meghan Chenausky, CNP, FNP-CMeghan Chenausky, CNP, FNP-C, is excited to be part of the York Family Practice team providing patient-centered, prevention-focused care. Ms. Chenausky’s experience brought her from RN at Baystate Franklin Medical Center’s Med-Surg Telemetry unit to NP resident at Penobscot Community Health Center in Bangor and certified FNP at Core Physicians, Exeter, New Hampshire. She earned her BS in Biology from Boston College, her MS-Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Massachusetts, Graduate School of Nursing in Worcester. “I view my relationship with patients as a partnership, educating and empowering them to make the best decisions for their health,” said Ms. Chenausky. She can be found spending time with her family, hiking and tending garden when away from the practice.
 

Kaitlin Devlin, FNP-CKaitlin Devlin, FNP-C, will be caring for patients at Kittery Family Practice after joining the medical staff. She brings a wealth of nursing experience including the telemetry/infectious disease at Atrium Health – Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, the emergency department at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, North Carolina, and York Hospital’s intensive care unit. Ms. Devlin earned her BS in Nursing at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine and MSN – Family Nurse Practitioner at Simmons University, Boston, Massachusetts. Looking forward to long-term relationships and evidence-based care, she is excited to treat her patients as if they were family. Ms. Devlin enjoys hiking in the mountains in Maine, going to the beach, spending time with her frisky West Highland Terrier puppy, and traveling west to ski in the Rocky Mountains. will be caring for patients at Kittery Family Practice after joining the medical staff. Jason Kaiser, MD, MSEJason Kaiser, MD, MSE, is the newest member of the surgical staff at Surgery Associates of York Hospital. He is eager to provide trustworthy, top-level surgical care for his patients and looks forward to becoming part of the community he is fortunate to serve. Dr. Kaiser comes to York Hospital following a voluntary separation from the Navy after 11 years of service. Prior to his arrival, he was staff general surgeon at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Guam and department head of general surgery at the U.S. Naval Hospital at Camp Pendleton, California. He earned his BS in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MS in Biomechanical Engineering at Stanford University, Stanford, California, MD from Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine, East Lansing, and performed his internship and residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. When away from the hospital, Dr. Kaiser enjoys canoeing, surfing, woodworking, as well as hiking and camping with his wife and two sons.
 

Meredith Kohler, FNP-CMeredith Kohler, FNP-C, is excited to care for her patients at Kittery Family Practice. After earning her BSN from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Mass., she gained years of experience on the Intermediate Care Unit at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., and the Women & Children’s Float Pool at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, N.H. where she provided care to medical-surgical, telemetry, postpartum, and pediatric patients, and precepted newly graduated nurses. Ms. Kohler continued her education, in tandem with student internships at York Hospital’s Center for Older Adults, Pediatric Associates and York Walk-In Care, culminating with a MSN at the University of New Hampshire’s family nurse practitioner program.  Ms. Kohler is excited to help her patients navigate through life’s many stages and hopes to become the provider who they look forward to seeing. During her free time, you may find her running, reading, on the beach, or spending time with her friends, family, and puppy.
 

Patrick McCarthy, BA, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BCPatrick McCarthy, BA, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, joins the Psychiatry Associates of York Hospital team as a provider. He began his education at Rhode Island College, Providence, with a BA in Interpersonal Communication, followed by a BS in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine, Portland. He also earned his MSN/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from Husson University, Bangor, Maine. Mr. McCarthy’s clinical experience includes a position as a pediatric therapist and RN at the Center for Autism & Developmental Disabilities at Bradley Hospital, Riverside, Rhode Island, RN in Medical Cardiology and Neonatal Intensive Care at Maine Medical Center, Portland, followed by nurse practitioner duties on the Outpatient Psychiatric Services team at Maine Behavioral Health in Biddeford. He is excited to offer counseling and care to adults, adolescents, children, older adults, the LGBTQIA+ community and more. Outside of the practice, he enjoys life with his husband and two dachshunds and stays busy cooking, reading writing, travelling, and skiing.
 

Ryan Paolino, DORyan Paolino, DO, joins York Hospital as a pathologist and the Medical Director of Laboratory Services. Board certified in Pathology and by the Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, Dr. Paolino was Medical Director at Kendrick Memorial Blood Donor Center, Ft. Gordon, and Medical Director, Transfusion Services and Chief of Clinical Pathology at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, both in Augusta, Georgia. At Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, Dr. Paolino was the chief pathology resident, and also medical director of laboratory services, armed services blood bank, and transfusion services. His education includes a BS from University of New England College of Arts & Sciences, Biddeford, Maine, a DO from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine; followed by residencies in Pathology at Walter Reed national Military Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland, and Madigan Army Medical Center.
 

Shannon Payeur, APRN-FNPShannon Payeur, APRN-FNP, is the newest provider on the Walk-In Care team. Ms. Payeur earned her BS in Biology from the University of Southern Maine, Portland, along with a BS in Nursing and MS in Nursing from Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts. She has held positions in ICU, cardiac care, behavioral health and medical-surgical at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. After becoming a family nurse practitioner, Ms. Payeur practiced at Barrington Urgent Care in Barrington, New  Hampshire and Maine Health/Sanford Walk-In, in Sanford, Maine. She looks forward to providing high-quality, evidence-based care in a small-town setting. When not caring for the community, you can find her exploring the beaches of Maine and New Hampshire, leaf-peeping near Loon Mountain, or escaping to Florida or Aruba with her husband and two toddlers when the winter weather arrives.
 

Ann Marie Pender, PMHP-NP, has joined the medical staff at Psychiatry Associates of York Hospital in York. Her professional experience includes inpatient psychiatric treatment in a behavioral emergency department setting at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Lewiston, Maine, where she provided emergency psychiatric assessments, managed medications and acute substance withdrawal while working with staff in other hospital departments, crisis and community centers, to provide the best inpatient and continuing care. Ms. Pender has extensive outpatient psychiatric experience in Maine at Sweetser, Inc. in Saco, Kennebec Behavioral Health in Augusta, Cerebracare in Gray, and most recently at Northern New England Psychiatric Services in Kennebunk. Her education includes a BA in Psychology from the University of New England, Biddeford, Maine and both a BS and MS in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine, Portland. She is excited to use her education and experience to contribute to the psychological well-being of people in the York Hospital community.
 

SE Rafferty, MSN, MA, RN, PMH-NP SE Rafferty, MSN, MA, RN, PMH-NP, is currently seeing patients at Psychiatry Associates of York Hospital. She has extensive experience as a clinical manager and Core Team Clinical Therapist at Center for Change (behavioral treatment services) in Boulder, Colorado and a clinical charge nurse at Maine Medical Center, Portland. She has also served as a nurse practitioner at MaineHealth Behavioral Health, Midcoast Hospital, Brunswick, Inpatient Palliative Care at Maine Medical Center, and Cooper Green Adult Outpatient Psychiatry in Birmingham, Alabama. Rafferty, her preferred name, earned a BA in Psychology at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, an MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University, Boulder, Colorado, a BS in Nursing from the University of New England, Portland, Maine, and an MS in Nursing, Family PMH-NP (Palliative Care subspecialty) from the University of South Alabama. Rafferty looks forward to providing holistic, person-centered care, in collaboration with other providers. Her treatment philosophy is informed by 25 years in various mental health and medical settings. She understands how societal, cultural, environmental, and access issues impact human health. Spending as much time as possible outdoors, she has thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail and swum Peaks to Portland a few times. She enjoys cycling, camping, singing in her community chorus, and playing the ukelele.
 

Daniel A. Reidman, DODaniel A. Reidman, DO, has joined York Hospital’s radiology team as a diagnostic radiologist. Dr. Reidman earned his BA from Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts, and his DO from the University of New England’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. This was followed by an internship and residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, where he was chief resident. Dr. Reidman is rejoining York Hospital, with previous experience as department chief in radiology at Moncrief Army Community Hospital in Ft. Jackson, South Carolina and MUSC Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, South Carolina, and Spectrum Health Care Practice in Portland, Maine. Dr. Reidman plans to be an enthusiastic contributor to York Hospital’s interdisciplinary health care team. When not at the hospital, this Portland native enjoys VW Pop Tops at the beach with his wife and kids, surfing, hiking and overlanding.
 

Deena Ryan, FNP-BCDeena Ryan, FNP-BC, is currently treating patients at York Hospital’s Walk-In Care locations. Ms. Ryan’s nursing experience has brought her from medical-surgical teams in hospitals from Santa Barbara, California to Springfield and Burlington, Vermont and Wolfboro, New Hanpshire. She has also enjoyed positions on the critical care, cardiac cath lab and inpatient telemetry units at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Dover, New Hampshire along with the ICU at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Ms. Ryan educated undergraduate student nurses at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) as a clinical nursing instructor. Upon completion of the family nurse practitioner program at UNH, she practiced at Barrington Health Center, Barrington, New Hampshire and at Southern Maine Health Care Walk-In Clinic in Sanford. Ms. Ryan believes in educating and empowering patients to make the best possible decisions for their health. Originally from Vermont, Ms. Ryan loves living in southern Maine and spending time outdoors with her husband and two children.
